  • Learn dog obedience commands to train your dog (i.e., sit, down, stand, stay, recall)
  • Learn positive reinforcement methods
  • Develop practice habits with your dog
  • Establish better control of your dog
  • Prepare your dog to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.  The CGC Program stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs.
  • Learn more about obedience to determine if you would like to compete in obedience trials with your dog
  • Prepare yourself and your pet for agility training.  If you are interested in agility, good basic obedience is a MUST so you can have fun training your dog in agility.

Obedience Classes Available:

  • S. T. A. R.  - The AKC S.T.A.R. (Socialization v Training v Activity v Responsibility) puppy training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy as well as provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs.  See the AKC website for additional S.T.A.R. program information.
     
  • Household Basic Obedience - The basic class emphasizes the essential training commands needed to make a dog a good companion: heel on a loose leash, sit, stand, down, stay in position, and come when called. This basic training is important in keeping your dog safe.
